Global corporate, private client and fund services provider, Hawksford, has announced its new charity partners for 2022 as Autism Jersey and the National Trust for Jersey. The company will work closely with these chosen charities to help raise awareness through fundraising, educational sessions, training, social media, and a calendar of events linked to the charities for staff and intermediaries to engage with.

The partnerships form part of Hawksford’s longstanding employee-led approach to corporate social responsibility, empowering its team to support charitable causes local to the markets in which the global firm operates.

Autism Jersey was chosen by Hawksford in recognition of autism’s prevalence in society, with over one in 100 people on the spectrum, and the need for recognition and support in society and places of work. Autism Jersey enables people on the autistic spectrum to achieve their full potential through advocacy in the community, as well as providing personalised services to individuals, families, and carers.

By increasing awareness around what autism is and the vast spectrum of conditions that it covers, the partnership will provide resources, information, training, and opportunities for staff, as well as external activities to raise awareness and funds to the charity.

Lesley Harrison, Head of Charitable Services at Autism Jersey said: “Community partnerships are invaluable if we are to continue to create a diverse and inclusive society in our small community, and at Autism Jersey, we are thrilled to be chosen as one of Hawksford's charities of the year. The level of support and commitment offered by the team at the Hawksford is amazing and demonstrates how important relationships are and how they can make a huge difference to help create a society that works for and includes autistic individuals.”

Also selected as one of Hawksford’s charity partners for 2022 is the National Trust for Jersey. The charity works to permanently protect the island’s natural beauty, wildlife, and historical places, ensuring it remains at the very heart of island life and can be enjoyed by people for generations to come.

In addition to the charitable partnership, Hawksford has also become a corporate member of the Trust, enabling staff and intermediaries to engage with the charity through unique hospitality experiences, exclusive volunteering, and team building days and activities.

Simone Springett, Fundraiser for the National Trust for Jersey, said: “The National Trust for Jersey is delighted to have been nominated Hawksford’s ‘Charity of the Year’ in 2022 alongside Autism Jersey. Hawksford is one of the Trust’s newest partners, having become a full Corporate Member in early March, and the Trust is looking forward to working with their staff on CSR and other team building conservation projects going forward.

“We are thrilled that Hawksford have come on board and we know that we will forge a mutually beneficial and strong working partnership together.”

Commenting on behalf of Hawksford, CFO, Steve Spybey, said: “Our ethos has always been to empower our employees to raise their voices and share ideas for making a difference in the communities in which we operate. In fact, during our Jersey office refurbishment last year, we donated 90% of our old office furniture and equipment to over 30 different local charities.

“The partnership between Autism Jersey, National Trust Jersey and our Jersey office, is a fantastic reflection of this approach. I believe that it is important to welcome and support diversity in our society and to make a positive contribution to the amazing environment which we are so lucky to call home. I am personally delighted that we will have the chance to support these exceptional charities by helping to raise critical funds and make a genuine difference. We look forward to seeing the impact these partnerships will make to the community and our teams.”

From individual and group challenges, through to large fundraising events, Hawksford supports its employees’ personal goals as they work to benefit the wider community, offering financial and logistical support for those raising funds in aid of charity.
