Our clients range from some of the most respected multinational corporations and global financial institutions, to medium sized enterprises, startup and early-stage businesses, as well as some of the most prominent entrepreneurs. In delivering structured corporate solutions and administration, corporate governance is key to all that we do.

What is corporate governance?

Corporate governance is the framework of rules, practices and processes by which companies are directed and controlled. Essentially, it outlines the way in which companies are governed and to what purpose.

Why is good corporate governance so important?

In a global marketplace where cross-border regulation is constantly shifting and where reputational risk has become central to the long-term success of a business, corporate governance has risen rapidly up the agenda of boards and investors.

By developing excellent governance frameworks, practices and processes, companies can facilitate effective strategic decision making, enhance efficiency, and ultimately help drive growth.

Doing so allows directors to provide clear and accurate reporting to shareholders and other stakeholders, and assess and manage risk – all while ensuring the company complies with legal and regulatory requirements (including economic substance) in an ever-adapting domestic and international regulatory landscape.

In terms of adding value, as well as enabling a business to run effectively and efficiently, it is important that good corporate governance is maintained so that, should there be a potential/future sale or investment, the company is attractive to third party investors and their due diligence teams.

Failing to adhere to the core principles of good corporate governance – fairness, accountability, responsibility, disclosure, and transparency – can often weaken a company’s potential, lead to financial difficulties and, in some cases, cause long-term damage to its reputation.
