Their objective

Venticento, the parent company, had a number of long-standing European clients that were undergoing rapid expansion across Asia. For operational reasons, it made sense and would be more efficient to have an IT team based in the region, so Venticento decided to create a direct presence in Hong Kong. 

Achieving this would involve opening an office, hiring local staff, coordinating with the Italian parent company and management, as well as structuring all the necessary administrative activities to support the new business as it provided IT services across the region.

With no prior direct experience of operating in Asia, Venticento decided an external partner would provide the services and the certainty they needed.

Our solution

Having been referred by a client and subsequently appointed, Hawksford firstly had to advise on the appropriate corporate solution. It was decided to establish a limited company, 7Cento HK, rather than a branch, as this would make future expansion in the region easier. 

With our experience in Hong Kong and our administrative support – including accounting functions and visa applications for both local employees and staff sent from Italy – 7Cento HK was up and running quickly. 

After completion of this setup phase, we started to provide monthly accounting, payroll and immigration services, ensuring compliance with local obligations as well as liaising with and reporting to the parent company.

Since establishing, the company has added new clients across the region, and has also relocated staff from Italy which has required additional support. It has also achieved major external investment, which has required more stringent and frequent reporting, which we have assisted with.
