Compliance Officer,

To act as support for the local Compliance Officer/MLRO. To ensure the business remains compliant with local regulatory and policy requirements and effective and robust AML frameworks are in place, and regularly tested to ensure the business, employees and clients are protected. This role would suit a self-motivated individual interested in career progression.

Principal Accountabilities:
- To assist with Identifying client/AML risks which are pertinent to the firm, have a strong appreciation for them and propose appropriate mitigation and identify training requirements where necessary.
- Assist with analysis of PEP, adverse media and sanctions screening of clients; identify and check appropriate levels of SoW/SoF for high-risk clients.
- To assist with providing relevant training to client-facing teams and serve as an SME for regulatory matters.
- Assist with analysis of controls testing of first-line activities and implement the 3 lines of defence model effectively across the firm.
- To assist with providing intelligent management information and reporting in a timely and accurate manner to local Board.
- Be kept abreast of relevant regulations as well as industry best practices regulatory regime.
- Assist in reviewing suspicious transactions in a timely manner.
- Assist the CO to ensure that there is proper governance in place for the various committees that the firm has established. To assist with checking documentation prior to submission to any delegated committee and assist the client teams with any queries.
- Support the Head of GRC on various compliance initiatives (locally and potentially from a Group perspective).
- Assist in serving as a liaison between the GRC function and other business functions and build relationships to ensure productive collaboration on the development and implementation of Compliance and Risk policies and processes whilst maintaining independence from first line of defense.
Required Skills & Experience
- A good understanding of the Dutch AML and Trust office legislation:
- The Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Act (Wet ter voorkoming van witwassen en financieren van terrorisme – Wwft)
- Act on the Supervision of Trust Offices 2018 (Wet toezicht trustkantoren2018 – Wtt2018)
- Law on Sanction 1977 (Sanctiewet 1977)
- Minimally 2 years working experience in Compliance/Risk function
- Business level written and spoken Dutch and English
- Office suite proficiency with affinity to Technology/Software
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Have a high level of integrity and take ownership of all risk and compliance matters
- Able to manage multiple tasks/projects, stakeholders, and timelines
- The ability to work independently
